Jesuit

As a Jesuit college, De Britto high school adheres to the Ignatian Spirituality in carrying out its entire educational processes for young people. The Ignatian Spirituality is inherited from Saint Ignatius of Loyola and documented in the book of spiritual exercises. Thus, the education at De Britto High School is intended to enable young people to be whole and balanced individuals. It means that De Britto High School enables their students to develop their conscience, physics, mental, and common sense. All of those aspects are equally important because they shape whole and balanced individuals.

More concretely, all educational processes in De Britto High School carry out 1L 5C (Leadership, Competence, Conscience, Compassion, Commitment, and Consistency). In other words, De Britto High School educates young people to be leaders who are capable, conscientious, compassionate, fully committed, and consistent with everything that they think about, say, and do.

Therefore, as a Jesuit educational institution, De Britto High School has the following characteristics :

  • Magis : Literally, it means “more”. Students are encouraged to grow continuously and become lifelong learners.
  • Man for and with others : Students are taught to have the awareness that they live with others. Hence, they are encouraged to care and reach out to others; more importantly to the poor and marginalized ones regardless of the background that is attached to each individual.
  • Cura Personalis : Care for each student. De Britto High School sees its students as unique individuals with their own missions.
  • Unity of Heart, Mind, and Soul : Education in De Britto High School is conducted to develop each aspect of an individual optimally, wholly, and in balance.
  • Ad Maiorem De Gloriam (AMDG) : For the greater glory of God. Students are taught that every action they take is for the glory of God, not their self-glory.
  • Forming and Educating Agents of Change : Students are educated to be agents of change and create a better world to live in.
